About the Artist

Brokaw 
I am a resident of northern Michigan where I am employed by the local lumber and forest industry. I live there with my wife and two children.
My interests center on the outdoors where I spend time hunting and fishing. This influence is reflected in my landscape painting of oils and acrylics. Even though I have not received any formal instruction, I have received best of show, best artist, seven first place, two second place, and one honorable mention at the Clare County Fair, and selected to exhibit in the 1998 Michigan State Fair. I have also had two very successful one man shows at the Healing Arts Gallery in Midland, Michigan. Many of my inspirations come from books, television, calendars, photographs, and my own imagination. I believe that most of my artwork is formulated from my inner feelings rather than from an actual place this is why I have chosen "Places for Your Thoughts" as the title for my business.
