Yes i know they arn't great saws..but i want to get the most out of it before I upgrade.

The saw starts fine and runs pretty well trouble free until it comes time to refill the gas.
After refilling the gas tank the saw will not start.  I have to usually wait a while or really crank on it to get it running again.
Once running again it works fine until i run out of gas again and the cycle continues.

The saw is only only a few years old and hasn't seen a lot of hard use.  I clean it after almost every use.

anyone know what might be causing this issue?
Thanks in advance!

Are you running it until it runs out & quits or are you filling it before it runs out. Have you tried using the primer button to push fresh fuel into the carb?

sgrosvenor

I fill it before it runs dry.

I Haven't tried priming it, but I will give this a try next time im out.

You might pull the plug when it first won't start, if the plug is wet it is flooding, if dry it is not getting fuel, this always the first thing I do when a saw won't start.

Have you tried using the choke on the saw or just pulling on it with the choke off ?

I have had good luck with this saw . Occasionally I don't have the strength to start it and I pick up a smaller saw. I know it is me not pulling hard enough not the saw . If a friend is with me he can start it .

I've tried both. putting the choke on with occasionally get it going, but it dies soon after.

I'm still new to chainsaws and 2 stroke engines.
What would be the next step if i pulled the plug and it was flooded?

old guy

If flooded you want to pull it over about a dozen times  with the plug out which will help clear it, then put the plug back in & holding the throttle wide open pull it over until it fires, but I don't think flooding is the problem.

Running lean and hot. Possible vapor lock. Richen the high and low and try to cool it down.
