Hi guys, i have a 1971 Deere 540A and need some advice.

i see oil dropping (pretty sure its engine oil) between the engine and dry clutch housing. i'm pretty confident its the back seal of the crankshaft that's leaking. while in there of course i check the what deere calls "dry disconnecting clutch" which helps to start the engine because it disconnects everything from the engine, even the hydraulic oil charge pump.Read More

I had a Older Gentleman that came and checked out my mill.
I currently have a twin blade edger. He said there is an edger that has a top head or knife that will take you can run a slab through and get a board out of the slab.
has anyone heard of this??

Appreciate if you could humor an old man. Drawing a blank. For a sawmill like a big circle saw, there is a name for the hinged /articulated arm that bridges over the saw head from the cab to the set works. Carries the electric and/or hydraulic lines. One end is stationary. The other end traverses back and forth with the carriage. Read More

I am finally up and running with a circle mill! I recently bought a complete Belsaw M14 mill from the original owner who purchased installed it in 1975. Being and old Paper Mill maintenance man, he followed the Belsaw concrete foundation plans to a T! I built legsets per the plans and hope to eventually...
