Hi all, on a periodic service last week my drive belt tension was a little under spec...12lbs approximately at 3/8" deflection. I engaged the auto clutch and began adjusting the treaded rod linkage to increase tension. I feel like I unthreaded (lengthened) the rod a long way to reach the 14lb spec. I was hoping to increase tension by a couple pounds to compensate for warmer belt temperatures/expansion but could not seem to get beyond 14lbs at 3/8". With this mechanical system I expected to be able to increase far above spec if ever needed. I'm only at 150hours total time on the mill. Anyone else experience something similar? I was reluctant to unthread the rod much more. Read More

Hey Sawyers. I befriended a nice older lady today. She sold me a load of mulch hay. Told me the story of her late husband who died a couple years ago. One of his hobbies was sawing. Had a nice sawshed with a mobile dimension mill sitting in it. She said the gas in it had gone bad and the mill vw motor is "dead". Read More

Anyone using RPM meter on their saws?

What I want to do is find a stand alone 12V DC RPM gauge that has a digital readout AND a digital output to control a device based on the detected RPM speed.

The alternative is to use a sensor for RPM and use something like an Arduino as the PLC to control relays.Read More

I need to manually manipulate the choke to cold start it and it needs to really warm up before it will function properly. There is a small plastic gear on the throttle linkage with broken cogs that I suspect might be the...
