The Kootenay Sawyer is a portable band saw
sawmill service working out of Rossland, in the West Kootenay Region of South Eastern
British Columbia. We work closely with local timber frame home builders and specialize in
providing Douglas Fir timbers, post, beams and lumber that meet exacting requirements.

Sawmill utilizes a Wood Mizer LT 40 Hydraulic sawmill using thin kerf sawing technology.
The thin kerf bandsaw allows us to produce very accurate lumber with a maximum yield from
the log.
