Duke and Prince26 viewsFormer police horses, they were a "failed experiment" by the NYPD in trying out extremely large horses. Turns out that not only did they intimidate the bad guys, they intimidated the stable help too! Both weigh 2,400 lbs, Duke is 18.5 hands and Prince is 17.2. It is 6' from the ground to my wife's hand... The first time that we shod Duke, I wanted to compare his shoes to those used in the game of "Horseshoes".
