split rail fence carving Here is a piece of split rail fence I carved.......I cut the profile on the band saw or coping saw, then knock of a flat surface with a flat chisel, pencil in the eye and mouth and carve them out, do a little work on the hair and beard and give it a coat of glaze and a hook at the back for hanging......Approx. time 1/2 hr.
