We sawed up one large cedar log into 1-1/2” flitches with one live edge.  I think it made eight flitches 12’ long.  He wanted the slabs too.  He uses them to make end tables, stools, etc.

We sawed up an ugly walnut log into two flitches and two heavy slabs.  He’s not worked with walnut so he’s thinking of how to use it.
