Draw attention to current industry initiatives … Understand how industry challenges are being addressed by state and provincial governments, the industry, and others in the region.

Highlight opportunities and challenges of emerging markets … Hear about
emerging markets associated with the growing bioeconomy, carbon trading, and ecosystem services.

Explore approaches to maintaining working forests … Learn about the role of
conservation easements and innovations in large land transactions in maintaining working forest lands.

Identify gaps and opportunities for collaboration … Help to identify gaps in
knowledge, activities, policy tools, etc. that will inform the development of a strategic action agenda to sustain and strengthen forest-based industries in the Great Lakes region.
