Anyone run a 24"bar on their 590 with a skip tooth chain. Got a couple of larger oaks to get down. Actually just one but forked. Will need to cut one fork that is about 38"dbh and then figuring on the other but it may go up to about 48"dbh.

A few more oaks that I would like to tackle but just no way to handle with a farm tractor. NICE white oaks. Last time it was logged was about 60 years ago with horses. Older than I am but my neighbor told me they used a team of horses and a cable and pulley. Horses went down hill and pulled the logs up the hill. Saw mill was set up on the property and moved a couple of places. Then the lumber was trucked out. One of the mill spots still has some old coke bottles laying around and years ago you could find some beer cans. Black Label if I remember correctly.
Give me a new saw chain and I can find you a rock in a heartbeat.

Don't see why it wouldn't work, if compared to the 460 rancher they should be on par with each other and Lowes used to sell the 460 with a 24" bar on it. Just don't expect to win any races with it.

If you haven't open up the pea sized muffler deflector, quite a bit more power than stock. Also pull the limiter caps and make sure its tuned good.  Steve
