I thought I posted this but couldn't find it so I'll share it with you again.

I Love dry rubs and I have a basic rub that I tweak as needed.

1 tablespoon each:

Salt
Black Pepper
Garlic powder
Paprika
Italian seasoning
Cumin
Brown sugar

Optional 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to kick it up a notch!

Don't spare the rub, lay it on thick!
This amount is just about right for a whole chicken or a rack of ribs.
If I'm doing pork I use 2 tablespoons of brown sugar.

Last night I shook it onto chicken wings heavily and smoked them for 2 hours.
Absolutely fabulous!

That's a nice simple all purpose rub. :) :)

Yea man! real close to my (whatever) you call it as you go mix.. mine are never the same twice, :D I may need a more organized spice rack :D,  I will say, there are so many pre mixes out there, and one I really have grown to like, and dont' even attempt to recreate, a brand called "Cavenders,"  original greek seasoning, its in a yellow and white round shaker,, it just works on deer, pork, and chicken,  for beef, I'm old fashion I reckon, heavy salt and pepper, and a hot grill,
only have a few chain saws I'm not suppose to use, but will at times, one dog Dolly, pretty good dog, just not sure what for yet,  working on getting the gardening back in order, and kinda thinking on maybe a small bbq bizz,  thinking about it,
