So Ray from The Cfarm called and wanted me to come up and saw a few logs for him......

The trick is not to lock it down but set up so it can pivot  as you cut it. Rod

Kbeitz that tree looks like the wood some people want me to run through the firewood processer .
A bunch of chainsaws a BT6870 processer , TC 5 International track skidder and not near enough time

For the life of me, I cant understand why they would grow like that.Regardless, they would make some of the coolest sheds and pergolas and front porch posts. We get some entertaining trees around here too, but a whole patch of them like this?? Not likely....

Kbeitz yours almost looks like an Indian marker tree.  Does it have scars on the part of it where you'd sit down.  It looks like it has the point too.

I'll let you google the history and science of it as I haven't spent any time with that part. Cindy took the children there one day while I was away on business and they said it was pretty different and interesting.

Those trees really do not look like I would think that a 150-200 year old tree would look.   ::)   :P

ill have about 50 acres of that in 50 years or so after the ends of all my beautiful red maple "rainbows" die off and the first branch takes over as the leader!
