Still looking for feedback on any WIDE owners (LT40 or 50) and which engine you are using.  From what I understand, there are two choices (not counting electric) the 38hp EFI Kohler or the 35.9hp Yanmar.

My 28hp EFI Kohler is mighty slow going through 20" plus oak, don't want any problems with milling anything wider if I upgrade.

I sawed up a few elm logs a couple weeks ago that I had laying around for a few years that were up to 24". Turned out great but I didn't race through it either. I guess around 1/4 -1/3 speed is what worked best. I didn't use any lube and in retrospect I should have. I sawed up a couple old cherry logs last night and the lube quieted the blade considerably. Keep in mind I just passed 50 hours on my mill and that is the total of my experience.
