Reminiscing about the mechanization of the logging industry.
Met a fellow (elderly) who described at length his work at Vulcan Machinery , he was charged , during mid '50s with developing an all position carburetor for the chainsaws of the era, saws of the day were only good to operate in the upright position .
Also recall the first skidders from CanCar , and trailers , also slasher wagons

Anything here of interest ?

Sorry , I missed mentioning NESCO.
I was born and raised in Cochrane Ontario to a logging family . Would hoard Canadian Forest Industries magazine for its articles and advertising, many companies from Thunder Bay. Family would travel often to Thunder Bay to visit friends. During those trips I would get dropped off at various plants and usually get a full tour of their production facilities.....a 12 yr old being treated like a Boss. NESCO was one of those businesses .
