Swamp tree

I saw a few of these trees on our trip to okefenokee Swamp in Georgia I think I know what it is but I wanted someone else's opinion.

Ok i though it was black gum

Is tupelo gum and black gum the same species?

yup, for commercial purposes, but one is nyss aquatia (water tupelo) and the other nyss sylvatica (black gum)

The loblolly bay has a very showy flower.
