Peeled logs drying too fast

Im eventually building a roundwood timber frame from the unsellable hardwood cull logs that are being produced by cutting my road and performing extensive TSI to correct previous high grading on my homesite.

I am debarking these logs immediately as they are cut because its about 7x faster judging by how many i can debark in a day wet vs dry.  But obviously these naked timbers dry out much much faster and crack considerably along their length, particularly on the sunny side.

What can be done to slow this down?  I considered wet towels but figured mold would result.

Thanks

I would cover the pile with an air space between the cover and the logs.
Hudson HFE 30 Homesteader bandmill w/28' of track
Couple tractors, a bunch of chainsaws and not enough time to use them.
