I have a 3 year old MS260C and the oiler failed. The saw has maybe around 200-300hours of use, which is not much. I disarmed the oiler and found a plastic wear part which has its thread destroyed. I have 2 MS260, both are 13 years old and have probably more than 1200 hours of use each and never had an oilerfailure!
Mi observation: is that a normal problem? do i have to get used to spend money on that fix every 2-3 years?? and why the heck do they make plastic wear part and change designs on something that has proofed itself to be flawless!!

Are you using clean chain oil? I have seen similar failures when the pump seized due to contaminated or poor quality oil stripping the drive.
