Kiln. firewood/pallet/lumber
« on: March 20, 2017, 01:38:27 pm »
I have read, understand, and agree to the terms.

Firewood kiln built with 40' reefer and nyle kiln components. Equipped with controls, heat exchangers, vents, wired in breaker panel, and control panel that records heat treatment process. Fueled with outdoor boiler.  Can also be used to heat treat pallets, or dry lumber. I upgraded to a kiln direct miniquick due to sales. 25k invested. Willing to sell for 15k [not to local firewood competition].

How well does this work for heat treatment of wood to meet USDA specs ?   I am in Arkansas.  I am curious about how well a wood boiler will work.

It meets requirements with no problem. We keep the boiler temp at 190 degrees. Wisconsin used to be 160 degrees for 60 or 75min, and we would easily get that, sometimes reaching 175 at the inner core of the firewood. We now have 140 degrees, so obviously no prob still. Alot of guys couldn't meet the 160 requirement with hot water, but with the help of Nyle kilns, they put a package together that works great.

To make it easier to move, I would be willing to sell components, and keep the container. I'd ask 10k for everything you need. Just buy a container [or build] and cut in vents, and hook up elec panel and heat tubes. You'd be getting a nyle control panel with vent controls, heat treat recording, pump, 3 big heat exchangers with shrouds and fans built on a custom stand, nyle vents with electric actuators, and 200 amp panel. I do have 2 extra heat exchangers with fans and shrouds, and an extra fan motor. [ I was going to originally build a traditional style lumber kiln style, but opted for the reefer ].

I am still figuring on this.  I have a 20' reefer trk bed.  In the original post you mentioned a wood fired boiler, is it included in this deal ?

armechanic, no I would keep the boiler. Everything I would sell is listed in previous post. I spent 17k alone for the components [ excluding boiler ].
