It's as straight and clean as it looks.

Correct bush mechanic.
It is redesigned a little. It's pretty quiet for a Detroit.
I have to put a better cover over it.  New design is almost finished. I'm trying to make it easy to remove yet functional.

Looks good. Keep the winch covered and use it. Sitting is not a good thing for gearmatics. Love the Jacks.
In two days from now, tomorrow will be yesterday.

WOW ! she's a workhorse --my buddy had the same machine with a turbo and I would swear it had a Cummins because it sounded real quite --- pulled like "Jack the bear "

Stoneyacrefarm

New jack is running great.
Thanks for everyone's advice and comments.

I think you can add some more chokers, that 240 on that flat ground didn't even know that was behind her :D

Stoneyacrefarm

I've ordered 6 more chokers for a total of 10.
Now I have to learn to cut faster.
If I could only cut with both hands I might get more logs to my landing.  :D

It just don't get any better than that! Don't cut too fast and work safe.

Now I need the weather to start cooperating.
Rain all day yesterday.
Freezing rain today.
Makes it pretty difficult to get trees on the ground.
The machine is doing its part.
Now I need to do mine.

I'm jealous of your terrain.Looks like Central Park by comparison to my bony ask place.
Where are you located?

I'm located in Western mass.
Currently clear cutting 20 acres of my own property.
It's all mostly flat. Nice straight wood for the most part.
I've been dragging it out to one of my hayfields and sorting the wood there.
Brush gets piled and burned on the edge of the field.
Doesn't get much easier than that.
The rain stopped for a little while this afternoon and I got out to cut a bit more.
Sure beats doing my taxes.

Mind my asking where you ordered your chokers?

I have all cable slings on my 225.  As they break I want to switch over to chains.
John Deere 5055e, mfwd. Farmi JL306 Winch. Timberjack 225 Skidder. Splitfire splitter & Stihl saws.

Stoneyacrefarm

I ordered them from a shop local to me.
THe guy ordered a barrel of 100 grade chain and ends seperate.
It Was cheaper that way and I can make a couple longer ones for bigger trees and brush piles.
Was going to order some cables also but decided not to.
Do you like the chains better than the cables.

Bushmechanic.
How is this.?
Better?
I took your advice and loaded her up good.
Even though it's flat ground , it sure put her to the test.
7 full length trees.
A nice ash. A good cherry and some yellow birch.
Less than a half mile skid.
I'm still learning the machine and what it will do.
Having fun and enjoying every minute of it.
You guys are great.
I've learned a lot from everyone here.
Thanks again to all.
