High floats on single bunk?

Does anyone have any experience with running high float(swamp tires) on a single bunk Franklin 132 or the like?  With the winters we have been having the last couple years it gets a guy to thinking. It's supposed to be in the mid 50s next week which is ridiculous for February here. We had nearly two weeks of above 40 in January. I have 23.1x26 on right now. I just wonder if swamp tires will get me farther along. I know I need a hub extension. Do I have to be more careful with em?

How wide are you talking?   We went up a size on our single bunk from 600 width (same as 23.1) to 710  (close to 28).   Had to change wheels as well.  No downsides so far.

There is a valmet for sale up here on Craigslist with big floats in it. Check that out, they may be able to give info on how it works.

Hey thanks man! That's pretty much what I was thinking. The size they have on that valmet. I will have to call them.
