It has been a little over a month since the like function was enabled. From this end, I have not seen anything I would call detrimental.  Stats are normal in comparison to the seasonal monthly average. The only contact I have had was one where the member wondered why he could not see the likes on his own posts. I had to break the news that it was because there were not any on that post. (he did have likes in other areas)

No complaints to the management though.
So, how do you see it?  I see there are members who never have used it, but I think that is mostly because they said up front " I DON'T LIKE DA LIKE!"   Let me say to those...  It'll be okay Bunky, no one will think ill of you if you decide to like something. ;) :)

Call me "Old School", but I don't see a like button!

I do see "Likes" at the bottom of some posts!

I'd like to help you with the poll, but I haven't got a clue what you're talking about. I guess that's just me -- clueless as usual :D.

I think you just asked a bunch of people who saw wood if they like a new fangled  contraption that sounds like something from ____book.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Oh BTW I like it. I dont know what good it does but after I like something it tells me that I liked it with however many other folks too. It helps me to remember what I like. After all I am the guy who cannot remember the number from one end of the log to the other.

I have no real opinion on it either way. I may or may not glance at it but mostly not and even when I do it doesn't really register much longer than it took to read the number.

I think it is a good idea from this perspective. Some folks read a lot more than they write, so they can 'like' a post that they feel good about or agree with. When someone posts a reply, you already know their opinion to a post. And it is a good idea to know who it is that 'liked' your post, because being anonymous about a 'like' isn't the same as knowing who it is.  I like that you implemented the ability to see the' likers'. Now don't feel bad if I don't hit that like button. ;D  :D

As I said, I haven't paid much notice to the like button until this post other than to see that there was one. Once I started looking I noticed I didn't have one on my post and thought, "Dang, I've been blocked from liking posts already". Then it dawned on my that duh, it's only that you can't 'like' your own post.  ::) :D
