Getting strings when sawing

I sometimes get them cutting Douglas Fir. More so with a blade that is getting dull but also with a blade right off the setter. I find it more with logs that were cut in the spring when the sap is running. The pitch sticks to the blade more and seems to cause more pulling of strings, once the cant is down to heartwood the stringing lessens.
Logs felled in the fall and winter seem to string less.
