I know that OSB isn't the greatest product that ever was, but SYP CDX is twice as much money. If OSB is a waste of money and time then I'll just have to trust the wind bracing in the framework to keep it stiff (there's that shoestring budget kicking in).
I guess I could sheath it diagonally with 1x like they used to.

I'm hoping and praying I can do a barn this spring/summer . From what I see in your pictures you guys have done a heck of a job on yours . I just hope I have the same shoe string budget you do !
Thanks, I've tried to do it as right as I know how.
I hope that your budget will be a little better than mine. I'm able to cheap out on a few things due to our climate, so I splurged on the store bought trusses. Other than the steel strapping, nails, and power poles, everything else has come off the mill. I'm going to be using 29 gauge roofing rather than 26 gauge (as bad as I hate to) it will save me about 1/2 on the cost of a roof. I'm planning on winding up with about $5000 in a 2100 square foot building, that's about $2.40 a square foot. That's a pretty short shoe string.

I haven't done much on the shed in quite a while. Been busy filling orders, and working on a thinning project. But this week was the turning point for me. Paul Case was right when he told me I'd better get something on that framework, summer is coming. 3 days in a row of almost 100 degrees without even a breath of wind made me decide that it's time to create some shade. So today me and my sawmill slave milled a few 20' 2x4's and finished up the bracing. I got enough used R-Panel roofing from a friend to get a lid on this thing. Power company has brought in electric, so I can hook up a fan or two. Looks like my customers may have to wait a bit longer, but we gotta have some relief.

I guess I forgot to take a picture of the roofing. It's mostly red.
I'll update Monday.

Awesome. I bet that loader will be a big help getting the metal up there.

That old loader is handy for a lot of things. That's the plan, lift 25 sheets up, pull one up the slope, ease forward 3 feet and repeat.

Good plan. Sounds like something I would try.

Getting fancier by the day, you will severely enjoy the shade
Boy, back in my day..

Well, it's all set up. One buddy is showing up tomorrow to help cut everything to length. The rest are showing up Friday I think, and we'll see how far we get.
You're right 4x4, I will severely enjoy the shade.

Well, we got a little done before quitting time today.

This is the clock that determined it was quitting time.

Lucky for me, I'm the boss.  ;) When I was a little younger I didn't mind working in the heat. Funny how things change.
It wasn't bad in the shade, but there wasn't any on top of that thing.

Well, no working on the shed today. It was supposed to hit 106 today at the mill, so I worked up on the mountain. The job I have going is at about 7000' elevation, and it was about 80 degrees there. All I can say is; I'm glad I'm not in Phoenix, or Vegas.

Nope, falling trees today. I did get one nice Ponderosa that scaled about 2000 bd ft. Don't run across those every day on a thinning project.  ;D

Yep, it's a "dry heat". The same kind they use to roast a turkey.   :D
Humidity was actually pretty high for here. Monsoons are trying to start.
It actually hit 108 in the basin today. That's hot, and I don't care who you are.

Heck, at 6am this morning it was 79F and one can cut the humidity with a knife. Dang windows in the house are sweating. :(

When it gets hot here, evaporative coolers work nicely
