I've decided the my JD 3032 , although a capable little tractor, is just a tad too small for what I need. I also don't want to break the bank. Thinking about moving up to a 5045. Any opinions?

Our neighbor across the road got one not quite a year ago, and he loves it!  So far no mechanical problems, and he uses it at minimum twice a week.  He hauls and moves a lot of wood with the bucket.  He also used it last January to move snow when we got that blizzard.

Not exactly the same, mine is a 5065, the turbocharged version of what I believe is the same engine/tractor design.  Going on 4 years of trouble free service, mowing, baling, tilling, feeding round bales of hay and moving logs.

The 5065 is 20 more HP and does not include the loader for a good bit more money. Probably more of what I really need but I'm a tight wad. Don't really need the loader when I have a backhoe but it would be easier to do hay with than the backhoe, especially with a hay spike instead of the one I made for my backhoe. Not sure the 5045 is really big enough either though. What I really need is to find someone with a decent enough tractor that wants to trade it for a 2005 Ram 3500.

LeeB I just went thru this but was looking at the JD 5055. I ended up with the New Holland Powerstar T4.75 a 75hp tractor. I got it for the Same price as I had negotiated for the 5055. It included the 3rd function valve   brush guard and wheel weights. They are discounting pretty good at New Holland. The tractor has a better lifting capacity and is a heavier machine. Look at all of them and compare. I found the pigment in green paint must be expensive.  Here is a link to that thread.
