The first log I milled on the Woodmizer when we had it was sweetgum. This time, a sweetgum is the eighth log I have milled. I'm in the process of it right now. I didn't get any pictures after starting to cut, but I'm only ½ through the log, so I'll try to get more pictures when I get back to it. This log measures 26" on the short end, and is 8'8" long. I will try to get a RR ties out of the middle, for practice as much as for any other reason.

You needn't think the Takeuchi loader belongs to me, though, that belongs to my boss.  ;D It's a great one to use though, and it picked that piece of sweetgummery up quite nicely.

This is the third log of the tree, and I'm starting with it-- the two logs from below it are even more impressive and have fewer and smaller knots of course.
