By the looks of the Michelin man there, you aren't the only uncomfortable guy around that house Jeff.

Hopefully you're not both suffering the same way though.... :o
If you're going to break a law..... make sure it's Murphy's Law.

Jeff

He's not to uncomfortable, I fixed it so he can keep putting the wind to his back. ;D

fstedy, Here is the story on how our house happens to look like it looks now. :)

That's quite the political statement you have there, Jeff, but what is that flag pole sitter protesting?  :D
I eat a high-fiber diet.  Lots of sawdust!

Jeff

Maybe I should mark da pole out in inches and set up a web cam so you guys can see when da snow gets deep enough for me to yell "Frosty! JUMP!"

It must be in the air as my wife worked all weekend decorating or home. She even got me to bring up the steel arch for the front sidewalk.
She clains there are just so many weekends left to get this done.

I agree, Jeff and Tammy's house looks great
Kinda puts ya in the spirit.

My wife has the spirit and has put a few lights up. I did my part and took some pictures of her work... :D
But when I went to post them here, they were so dark it didn't look good.
Any of you puter gurus able to pass on some ideas on how to lighten em up a little?

Haytrader

Norm

Heck they weren't that dark, TJ sure did a nice job. :)

Guess I better find out where the ladder is and get busy myself. You and Jeff are making me look bad. :D

Jeff

With mine, it was in how I took the pictures. I have a mode on my camera that will keep the shudder open for about 5 seconds, and at the same time not flash. I just discovered I could do that lastweek after having this camera for almost 4 years. :D

Jeff- the house looks great.... glad my wife didn't see it.

I did get a good laugh out of the "frosty - sit-n-spin".

I got out of the decoration thing this year 8)

We are busy moving, so just maybe I wont have to worry about it until next year.

The new place can't be seen from the road anyway, but somehow I don't think that will matter to the wife.

Haytrader

Deadheader,

Dat costs $$.... ;).....bet I already got sumthin on here to make em lighter but not smart enough to "get er done"

Sides, Norm says they ain't that bad. So here is my wifes lights.

Your house looks great Jeff . I dont know how I missed looking at your thread of the whole project but I did now . Now I cant miss it when I drive by . Very nice indeed !  I hope I get to do a big cannonball in your pool next summer !
UNCLEBUCK    bridge burner/bridge mender

Murf

I'm miffed, absolutely irrevokeably perturbed!!!

I got all in the spirit after seeing how Jeff had everything all gussied up for Christmas and decided to do my own little bit of decorating.

The missus got a bunch of those new LED Christmas lights and I noticed that they are 12 volt and powered by a little transformer.

So me and Deputy Dog spent the best part of the afternoon in the Toy Box (called shop by some people) putting Christmas lights in the windows of the plow truck.

The Redneck Christmas season has arrived  8)

Or has it ?

On my way into town last night I got one of those sinking feelings in my stomach, the kind you get when a car passes you and you see all that reflective tape down the side and the lights on the roof, and then the car pulls a fast u-turn and comes after you, FAST.  :o

But wait, seat-belt is on, I'm not speeding, what could be the problem?  ???

"In the Christmas spirit are we? WOAH,  keep a hold on that little dog sir!"

"What seems to be the problem officer?"

"Can I see your license, ownership and insurance paperwork please Mr. Griswald?"

Dohhhhhh, the Christmas lights?

It seems christmas lights aren't very legal on a moving vehicle, that is unless I can work it such that the only ones facing forward are white or yellow, and the only ones facing backwards are red and yellow. They can't flash unless it's the direction I'm turning and they can't interfere with my sight or distract other drivers.

Bah, humbug!!!!

Oh well, they'll look nice on the tractor when I'm working in the dark.
If you're going to break a law..... make sure it's Murphy's Law.

Buzz-sawyer

Just curious, what is the current grinch tax on Christmas lights.....(what did dudley do right hit you for?) :)
Here in the US I have seen bookoo semi trucks with lights....seems the more lights the more visible...the safer we are ;)
    HEAR THAT BLADE SING!

Murf

Luckily the nice(?) officer was more concerned about safety than giving me a ticket, and seeing as how I was able to flip them off right smartly he settled for just a warning about safety.

Personally I think he was far more concerned about Deputy Dog takin' his hand off at the wrist if he tried to stick a ticket in the window. He asked me to reach out to give him, and retrieve my license and stuff, he wouldn't even allow me to open the door to step out and he kept asking if I had anything to tie him up with.

I don't think the lights or the colour was the problem, it was the pattern they were flashing in that was rather dazzling.

Too bad, it looked kinda' neato.
If you're going to break a law..... make sure it's Murphy's Law.

breederman

I met one of New Yorks finest today.I knew I was in trouble when he was pulling wide to turn around before I had even passed him! Said that I had the breedermobile going 72 m.p.h. I said I didn't know it would go that fast! He wanted to know where I was going,I just HAD to laugh. He did let me off with a warning though,so I thanked him very much and was off , at a slower pace.
Together we got this !

Kevin_H.

I hate to rain on the parade here  ;D

But I have photographic proof that Jeff had started putting up christmas decorations well before now...

Exhibit one your honor...

Its a shame that Kevin would use those little tykes just to set me up like this.  Thats pretty original though, bring those lights clear up here from clear down there just to pull a gag on me.  ::)

Twas you, boss man.

Hey Jeff.  I got an idea on how you could pay the extra on yer light bill due to all them lights.
You could have a contest to see how high "Ol Frosty" is up on dat pole and have a small ( ;)) guessing fee. Of course in all these modern day contests, they only pay a small percentage in prizes.
 ;)

That's a beautiful shot Jeff! You should print it out and put a frame on it. :)
