Hello everyone,

I live in Central Florida and during the recent hurricane a huge piece of a very large tree in my yard snapped off.  I'm in the middle of breaking it all down and I was curious as to exactly what type of tree it is.

My main question is, is it something that's good for the smoker, or even safe to use for smoking.

I've attached some pictures.  Let me know if they are enough or if there is anything else I should focus on.

Thanks!

I am going out on a limb   And saying it is a live oak
If it was easy everybody would be doing it

I was thinking some kind of oak but I can't recall ever seeing any acorns, not even on the ground, unless the squirrels grab them all up really quick.
