with gmatic trouble    about a year ago I put a new drum and brake bands in they started slipping took it apart and there shot almost down to the metal I don't slip the winch its in gear or its free spool my other winch is going on 4+ years with the same bands could it have been a bad batch of linings  :-\

i think some of the parts we get are sub par. last i got didn't last long.....i didn't like the price from cat but maybe there better, idk.

Don't own a gearmatic anymore, but had good luck with re-lined bands. I think they came from west coast. Schaeffer's enterprises kept them on hand, and would send a batch of wore ones out west for lining.
