Anyone seen the videos I made about turning a Harbor Freight fireman's hatchet into a usable camp axe?  If not, here it is.

Fun videos.  Thank you.  I use my short-handled axe to help in getting bark off of logs.  Works like a dream.  Clean an 8' maple log in less than a half-hour a couple of days ago.

What was the point? You spent $20.00 and several hours labor to make a camp axe you can buy for $20.00.

Sometimes you do, just to do I think. I personally would rather use a tool I made, rather than buy it.
Just saying.

I wonder if sometimes the video is the importance, not the tool/teaching.

In the case of the original poster, he was here to troll. After posting some posts purely to get people to his website and a forum he had just created he was warned about it. He did not take that warning well, and it became absolutely clear his only goal here was to try and use the Forestry Forum to get people to view his website and his videos that have ads on them.

Oh, he is not longer here due to his response to the admins.

I know that it is against the rules but why does it matter.  The guy is obviously new.  Whats wrong with driving a little traffic to a guys new site?  When you started this site did you just sit here and wait for people to show up?  Probably not.  Just because it's a rule doesn't make it right.

Jeff

Clearly you don't know anything about internet forum decorum. I built this forum the hard way. Through paid advertising, networking in real life and legitimate means. Not freely on the backs of those that came before. Use this as an example. You are wanting to sell puppies. You put a flyer up at the store. The next day, you see someone has put a flyer right on top of yours.

networking

Networking is visiting other sites right.  Getting your name out there.  It's pretty unfair to reprimand a guy for "networking".  The very way you started.

Jab, you need to work on your reading comprehension skills.  Jeff said that when he directed the man to the problem, the man was disrespectful.  We don't tolerate that with other members, much less the OWNER of the forum.
Say when

Jeff

You need to have the ability to look past the end of your nose on this to understand that if you allow such conduct, the forum would be inundated with nothing but people's personal ads and posts destroying  the purpose the site owner intended. In this case, I am the site owner, and his posts to advertise his website is not what my intentions are. Be the bigger man in your words then and understand I might know what I am talking about and doing after 16 years of it.

Jab had 12 posts here.  6 of them were about how he doesn't agree with how this site is run so I took care of his problem for him.

I know Jeff did right. I saw it,thought that would happen. Some on here have sites to visit. BUT they have to earn our,Jeff's, trust. Most site's are wood related too. He was brand new and tooting his horn.
