I've had trouble updating my profile. I managed to get it to change my avatar once, but when I try to change it every other time (including that I don't intend to keep this avatar), it "computes" and then gives me this message:

"Your session timed out while posting. Please go back and try again."

Even though I do it as rapidly as possible, like less than ten seconds, I think.

If it matters, I have my settings so that the Forum never logs off.

Hmm, it's still doing the same thing after I emptied my browser history.  :-\

Your browser's cache is different from its history. The history is a list of sites that you have visited. The cache contains pieces of those sites saved by the browser to speed up its display.

The technique varies based on the browser and operating system versions.

Google: clear cache <browser> <operating system > substituting your specifics. For example:

   Clear cache Edge Windows 10

You could also try a different browser like Chrome.

You may also try to clear cookies, but you will have to re-log into sites with saved passwords.

Are you using a phone or a PC?  the issue is definitely on your end though.

It's a PC, an HP Pavilion dv7-6c23cl  .
At least that's what it says on it.

Ok, I got it to update now, although the first time I tried it just now, it did the same error message.

I've concluded that it must have been something wrong with the photo I was selecting for avatar, although the message it gave me did not seem to have anything to do with that.
