79 .7 hrs is how long it took me to saw in to one of the stops.
actually it was the log clamp I had to clamp high because of wane.
it had started to rain and I was in a hurry trying to finish the log.
I think there's a saying that says haste makes waste.
that makes a sound that I won't soon forget.

Is there a record out there for the most hours or less hours before doing that.

I don't know. But in 220 hours, the only thing I've done is skim the top of the clamp, first day I had it!!! Kept cutting, just a slightly wavy board...I attribute this success to........LUCK!!!

I didn't check the meter but I am sure I did not wait that long.

I know I hit mine the first day.  I was showing off a little and said "watch this" and jacked the speed pot way up, the dull band started dipping, and before I knew it, sparks were flying.
No big deal, a little spritz of paint, a new band, and on I went.

Take steps to save steps.

If it won't roll, its not a log; it's still a tree.  Sawmills cut logs, not trees.

Sawing is fun for the first couple million boards.

400hrs on my LT35 and 200hrs on this LT40 and I haven't sawed into the backstop or clamp yet :D  I really shouldn't open my fat mouth.  I have skimmed the top of a backstop however.

I just got my lt15 a few months ago and I remember thinking "I will never hit a clamp, I would have to have my head shoved somewhere to do that.  Well day 2 of milling I was eating my own words.  Day 2 and I was one blade down already.. The way I looked at it was I got it out of the way early..

I haven't done it yet, on either of my mills, but I know its just a matter of time.  I've see my dad do it numerous times!  So I know exactly how its done!  ;D
