Finally got to some some real logs.  These were two oaks that we took down on the property.  Six nice 9 ft logs.



Quarter sawed all of it in 5/4





Cut this out of three of the logs

Nice boards!  Nothin' like the feeling of turning logs into usable lumber.  Good job on the log deck...I've seen one just like that somewhere ???.

Nice wood! As you may well have discovered, once you get a whiff of fresh sawdust, you are addicted.

Take steps to save steps.

If it won't roll, its not a log; it's still a tree.  Sawmills cut logs, not trees.

Kiln drying wood: When the cookies are burned, they're burned, and you can't fix them.

Sawing is fun for the first couple million boards.

Be smarter than the sawdust
