Hey, once again I turn to the  wizards of the forestry Forum for useful info and sound advice.....  yesterday the log clamp of my HD40 refused to budge. Everything else works. the contact  works.
this happened a year ago, and  Woodmizer  told me to simply turn the  'plunger' that is under the  valve  cover  one half turn. that worked then, but did not help any yesterday.
Do I now have to replace the entire $1256 6-valve unit, or are there zany tricks to help nurse it along?.  thanks for any input

Sometimes a re-kit of seals on the ram will fix it. I think Magic has done a post about how to take the rams apart. I have done mine when the pump operates but the ram response is unconvincing to no go.
cheers john

Can you be more specific? is it the up down or in/out?   do the pumps run? can you see that pressure is applied to the cylinder or not?

Yesterday my in/out wouldn't go out and I sprayed teflon spray on the horizontal rod it travels on right up to the cross piece and it started moving again fine.

Got it!  I found an old post on the forum advising that the  control  handle be taken off and put back on,  and.......voila!  It  goes up and down again as it should.  I have no idea why!  I made no adjustments, but it works again.....until it won't.
   Thanks for the input, guys.
