Log Tension

Board Cutter

I'm always amazed at how much tension can be in a log.  Cutting a 16' Doug Fir today that was about 23" on one end and only tapered to about 21" on the top.  I had it canted down to 17.5" and it was lifting 5/8" off the bunk on one end!!!  Who'd think something that big could still have that much tension.
I kept rotating it as I cut it down but several of the boards still look like they would work for skis or barrel slats :D

I know nothing about Dfir,  but can understand reaction wood,, it can and will drive you crazy at times,
only have a few chain saws I'm not suppose to use, but will at times, one dog Dolly, pretty good dog, just not sure what for yet,  working on getting the gardening back in order, and kinda thinking on maybe a small bbq bizz,  thinking about it,
