Hey Y'all,

My father in law has a Husqvarna 345 that he uses for trimming his trees. His saw had a chain throwing problem, so he went out and bought a new bar and chain. The saw was running great for a few hours and then it threw its chain again.

What could be the culprit of this problem?

The chain especially when new needs to be periodically checked for proper tension. As it wears and gets hot it will tend to stretch, twigs caught between it and the bar will cause jumping. It can also occur if the saw is twisted in the cut.

I'd first guess it to be your FIL.  Am thinking he doesn't know how to adjust the chain.
No offense intended.

But then, it may be the drive sprocket causing a problem.

#2 on drive sprocket. If its worn badly its near impossible to tension the chain right. Even if you tension it right once it spins few times its loose again.
