C.B. 6048 Loading it three times a day.

I have a C.B. 6048. I am heating a 30 x 50 shed to 45 deg F. Mobile Home and House and hot water in the house.
I need to fill the boiler 3 times a day,(soft wood) when the temperature is 10deg or lower at night. I don t like to see the boiler dropping below 175 deg if i can help it. Would you say that is uncommon?

I fill my 6048 twice a day, even when it's well below zero. I'm heating a three bedroom cape wind tunnel with attached two car garage. I burn pine almost exclusively. If the shed has no insulation, then I'm not really surprised.

My 24 X 32 shop takes 3 times as much heat as my 28 x 48 house . I put an on off switch on my shop blower above the termostat and just heat the shop during the day . My shop only cools about 10 degrees thru the night

I don't think that is all that bad,with the space you are heating. Most are only heating a house. Looks like you are heating 3 houses.

I have a big old farm house and a 40X60 shop with a 16 ft ceiling 1 20X14 & 1 12X12 overhead doors. When the temp gets to about 15 I will shut off the circ. pump at night. temp in shop will only drop 2 or 3 over night. I fill my boiler 2 times a day with Hard wood. I have also thought I should have got a larger boiler when I got it. : :

With soft wood and low temps very normal.    I heat about the same area and I fill 3 times per day if temp stays below 10.  10 is the magic temp for me.  Above 10 and only twice a day.   7AM  4-5 pm and 10 pm.  I will burn a cord a week in a normal January.

Thanks for the input all. Yes the magic temp for me is 10 deg as well, that is when i need to load 3 times a day. And yes I burn about a cord a week as well when the temp is below 10 deg at night. Make me good to fell that i am not abnormal at least when it comes to the boiler anyway.

I heat a 45x50 2 story house and a 14x70 mobile home the mh has a 200ft water run 100 in 100 out and load it 3-4 times a day below zero with the same boiler as you  and I use hard wood so you are doing good
