Due to the extreme fire conditions the state has moved the fire level to stage 4 , complete shut down.

Right now we have about 300000 acres burning. Yesterday we lost 3 fire fighters at Twisp and another four were injured an air lifted to Harborview  Medical Center.

There have been a number of homes and out building destroyed.

A good friend lost about half of his equipment in the North Star fire. A Large rancher figured they will lose about three hundred head of cattle in the Kettle Falls complex fire.

The second is for the maps of the fires.

Hopefully the links work , Pete

I heard about the tragic firefighter loss early today. Day before yesterday we were put up to level 3- almost a complete shutdown, and the rest of Ore is on level 4 to the south and the whole of the cascades. I hope we begin to get some cooler moister airflow off the big water.

Thanks guys for the the prayers.  The news reports are showing fhat many of the fires have made considerable growth today. We have a red flag warning out for the weather so that is not good.

Pete,
Sorry to see this happening out there in this area.  About 12 years ago I was in Wenatchee for a natural gas class.  We had the Thursday off, so I went for a drive all the way up past Winthrop on Route 20.  I fell in love with the area!  It hurts me deeply to see the area so badly damaged by these fires.  I have told many people if they were in the area they needed to drive the northern Cascades Loop.  Wonder what it looks like now.

Sorry and sad to read this , the weather sure is screwed up , you guys are in real bad need of rain just not lightening and in my bush I donot think I could start a fire with 5 gallons of gas its that wet

Level 3 here, though we have some smoke from one up southwest of Mad Murdock.  All I'm doing is some spraying and limbing.

Prayers, thoughts and hopes of rain for you out that way. The weather is way off as far as I can see. Been farming for 30 years and the weather has certainly changed, the inconsistency's are crazy.
In two days from now, tomorrow will be yesterday.
