A lady contacted me through my website about repairing a piece of cocobolo that had a portion of it break off.  I have never used cocobolo.  Can you glue it with regualr PVA wood glue, like Titebond III?

Some tropical woods are oily.  Not sure what glue to use.

i have glued it without issue with PVA glue, but some people say you should wipe it down with acetone before gluing it to remove excess oil.

Just Me

I use West System, not sure about others.

I make pulls out of the stuff, and there is no need for a finish on it at all. Just sand to about 320 and take it to a buffing wheel. I have a door to a bar that has been there 20 years with Cocobolo pulls and they still look like new with no finish at all.\
