Im looking for some input in regards to blocking for 4x8 rafters, 24" on center, with the greatest span of 12 ft. Rough sawn white pine--   they are oversized, but are sawn from some pretty rough stuff as I started cannibalizing old projects to make those last few rafters.
Rafters will be fully exposed with 1" t &g pine will be nailed on top and then a cold roof. Im concerned about potential twisting. Would you block them half-way, or just forget about it?
Thanks for any input.
All the best!

I've got 3x6 rafters, and the longest span is about 10 feet.  SYP.  The twisted before we got them up and had to trim tops and bottoms and cut them as best we could to get the back to square.  Once we got them up, and put our t&g on top, they have not noticeably twisted.  We did not use any blocking.
