Hello, I am new to the site and am looking for some advice to get a Stihl 021 chainsaw running.
When I first got it, it would start and run but quickly overheat. I did a compression and found it to be right around 100 psi.
The cylinder walls looked ok so I decided to do a partial rebuild. Here is all that I did: replaced rings, oil seals, intake and exhaust gaskets, fuel line, and impulse line. After the rebuild it will not start, won't even fire. I rechecked compression - no improvement.
I also checked spark, all good. I even squirted fresh fuel right into the carb and the tried  starting it - nothing.
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks.

Sure gauge is working properly?

OEM or aftermarket rings?

Put rings in dry or coated with some oil?

Sure rings didn't break on installation?

Sure you remembered to put the rings on? (it's happened before).

Sure you don't want to just buy an new saw and give that one to me?  ;D
