I have a small sawmill operation . Was wondering what most you guys do.. Do you run everything through a planer an edge a side with jointer? Or do you do that as a extra an what do you guys charge? Also with wet lumber do you cut it about 1 1/8 to get 4/4 ?

Thanks

I plane the lumber.  It is cut 1 1/8" and I plane it to 1" or 15/16".  I do not striaght-line it on the jointer, but will do that for small quantities for a fee.  I usually add $.50/bf for doing extra processing/planing/jointing, etc.

WDH, do you plane it straight off the mill or do you dry it first?
