I bought a new saw the other day and the adjustable oiler was set at half way open. I was just wondering if you guys turn them all the way up or just run them how there set. I turned it all the way up. Bar is 25 in on the saw. Thanks Bullsram

What saw do you have and what are you doing with it? If you are milling the extra oil is almost mandatory. If bucking softwoods it is probably set correctly.

It's a Stihl MS660.  I'm mainly using it for felling some large trees on my farm.

Turn it all the way up, wont hurt a thing

I put a high volume on my 660.  A little extra oil won't hurt.

Unless it runs out of oil before fuel  ;)

Not a problem on a 660 even with only a 25" bar?

Oil is cheap, chains and bars are not!  In SC heat we run every saw on the the highest oil setting.  More oil/ less friction.  I do, however, use different viscosity oils for different weather conditions (Winter vs Summer)
