They were air rotted and had cuts and cracks on them. You could look through the cracks and see the air.

Poston,

If you can see your air, it must be awful dirty...

Maybe change an air filter to help clean it up?

Good on you.  Your new tires will do well for you.  Don't distress too much.  My car's tires are $406 each.  Not proud about it, just letting you know that we all suffer when buying new shoes for our babies.

Hahaha that reminds me of the time I got one tangled up in my plow from those well to do types that bury'em half way at the end of the driveway. Man was that a pita to deal with. It was even painted purty white

I wasn't taking a picture of them, but the "small" dark spot just right of center is a stack of 4 tractor tires.  It is my bullet stop at the 100 yard target.

Larry

I put new tires on Kathy's car a while back.  Tire place wanted $8/tire disposal fee.  I thought they might have a few miles left so told them I would pick them up next time I was in town with the truck.  Put them on craigslist and 3 hours later I had $40 in my pocket.  Next time I'll try for $60. :D :D

I was shocked at $2,050. What kind of skid steer tire would be worth over $900? :o

I was a little shocked too. Mine are only 12-16.5 and I am going with the Solideal 12 ply regular groove I guess. Just need something to hold air and roll. Looked at some of the turf style one's but determined I may need traction every now and then.
