want three or four of them. Well, for now anyway. I've got a Shindaiwa 488, 50cc saw which is great. That one's a keeper. I've also got a Stihl O36 and an MS 361. They're both 60cc. The MS has double dogs and a full wrap. I'm either gonna sell the 036 and buy a Husky 272xp, or sell the 361 and buy an MS 460. So the lineup will either be 50, 60, and 70 cc, or 50, 60, and 80cc. Any thoughts? The option with the MS 460 will cost maybe $150 more, and I'll lose the newer of the two 60cc saws, but the Husky is older and smaller than the big Stihl.

All opinions are appreciated. Thanks!!

I would sell the 361, you'll be needing the 460

Not sure which came first, but I have chickens and eggs.

Thanks, guys. That's kinda how I felt too, just wasn't sure about it. I think I'll be happier that way, although I will miss the 361. I bought it used with a full wrap on it. Can anyone tell me if I can swap handlebars with the 036 before I sell the 361?

JohnG28

Nope, can't switch the handles between them. If you're selling a saw either way, then why not sell the one you want to sell more and buy the one you want to buy more?  ??? I don't follow your logic? I'd sell the 036 and get a 460, but that's me. I like my 361 a lot. Gets a lot more use than my 460 too. If I need a 24" bar I use the 460, anything less I grab another saw. Of all them it's usually the 361.

I'd be looking for an SP81/PM800/805/850. But if old skool isn't your bag, then definitely a 70/80cc Stihl Husky or Dolmar.

I see what you mean, but unfortunately "want" isn't the only consideration. If it was, I wouldn't sell any of them and I'd buy a 200t, a 440, a 660 and an 090. The logic is, I have to sell one to afford a new one. The 361 is worth more than the 036, so if I sell that one, it'll only cost about $100 to upgrade to the 460. If I sell the 036, the difference will be about $250. I'm going to pick up the 460 this afternoon, wish me luck.

So, you haven't sold either one and you're going to get the 460. Sounds to me like problem solved.  :D

:D. Good point. It's true that I don't literally have to sell any of them in order to buy the 460, but it's certainly going to be easier to explain to the CFO that way. ;)

X2!  My Father taught me that when I was very young!  :D :)

My wife has proven very forgiving! There are a whole lot of other things a man could get himself in trouble with, a few saws to keep happy isn't bad to her I guess.  :D :D Marriage is all about compromise right!  ;)
