Sorry to hear.  Hope surgery goes good.

I'm pretty scared to be honest.  But they said I'll most likely keep my toe.

I dont know if you have ever severely damaged a digit before but it never ever heals right. Sorry to hear your luck, was it just leaning over limbing ? I bounced a 562 off my saw boot a few months ago walking a hemlock.  ;)

Be careful !! dadgum you, Charlie!
sorry to here that your hurt

Just kidding  I cut the tendons in my finger several years back surgery, 8 weeks with steel pin in it. The therapy to get it to bend again was the hard part. they will get you fixed up just dont rush it going back to work. hope it all goes well

It's my first saw injury. Limbimg a pine while walking on it yup. I hear it's a common injury while doing that.

I quit trimming that way after I let a limb knock my feet out from under me. just in a hurry not thinking landed on my back didnt even know what happened for a few min  stupid_smiley  I was working by my self to NO ONE
should ever do that!!!   I dont cut timber anymore  just firewood.  I just mill now but if we run out of logs i guess i go back to the woods :)

Its going to be tough but you will get through it and be back in the wood before you know it

Sory to hear that. Almost the same thing happened to my chopper today he was trimming a twitch of hemlock and ran the 562 into his foot right behind the steel toe. sounds like you got it worse tho he only needed stitches. Hope you heal fast and can get back to work soon!

Oh yea behind my steel toe. But it pretty well half severed my toe.

Seems to be the way it always works. Every time Something gets dropped it always lands right behind the steel toe. Well good luck with the surgery hope all goes well! Keep us posted

you might could contract a feller if you gotta get wood. you could run the skidder pretty quick but i would be afraid to run a saw with one leg. is your skidder cable or grapple?

The surgeon will fix you up good as new.. don't worry.. everything will go fine.   My brother almost cut his toe off w/ a hatchet.. a buddy from HS blew his middle tow off w/ a shotgun..  you couldn't even tell unless you counted.  His brotherinlaw had just sworn at him to get that shotgun off your boot.. he said yes sir and jerked it off.. it fired.  Hard lesson.  Speedy recovery!

lynde37avery

I hope I keep the toe. The doc said most likely I will.
I got the appointment with the specialist in the morning. I was under the impression that they were working on my toe then. Well see.
