After drying some 6/4 rift and quartered red oak I noticed a large amount of sticker indentation that didn't ??? come out in surfacing.  What could be the cause of this? ???

Are you certain that it isn't just stain? Would not think it could dent, but more info about the stickers would be helpful. And a measurement of the dent depression would also help.

It is an Indentation.  The sticks are made from Apitong

red oaks lumber

looks to me that its just lines ,where it was surfaced the lines are gone. if thats something you cant work with, sawing alittle thicker will give you more material to remove during planing :)

Agree with ROL, as the marks do plane out. The board(s) in the pics are cupped so need to plane more off to get rid of the marks (lines).
