weve cut down a large Sugar Gum tree that we intend to mill. Just looking at slabbing it for some bar tops. We've organized a guy with a Lucas mill to come do it on site in a couple weeks, but is there anything I need to do in preparation? Painting the ends is one thing, but anything else? Any help would be appreciated. as it's the first log we've ever milled.

For you, I would just block it off the ground. It should be ok in a couple weeks to be milled.

Do you have a plan for drying & storing the slabs?  Get all that in place ahead of time so you don't have to handle them twice!
