I ruined a drive belt for my spindle number three. Where do I find a replacement for this. It is a flat belt 2"x53".

pine

Not having one, not sure what the belt part number is, but the obvious choice is try Woodmizer.  Their service is quite remarkable and I am certain they have them available.

Precision Wood Products

They no longer service their moulders and I can't find a good manual for it

I would like to talk to another woodmizer moulder owner

Cazzhrdwd

I have the five head.

Talk to Woodmizer, they'll direct you to another company that sells parts for them now.

Should be able to take it to any industrial belt shop and they can get you one.
Mobile Demension sawmill, Bobcat 873 loader, 3 dry kilns and a long "to do" list.

I have used Bullitt County Belting in Ky for my moulder belts.  They are similar to yours.  They can make about any belt.
I would take Oakiemacs advice and find a company as close as possible that can make those belts.  They may want to see the belt, to see the material it is made of.  But with the specs on the belt, they should be able to make one up in an hour or two.  They are not cheap.
We keep a spare belt on hand in case someone fries a belt.  Hasn't happened in a long time.  It will happen if someone tries to start the motors if they are jammed. I have my guys make sure the belts move freely before starting.
I am in the pink when sawing cedar.

Cazz's advice is good too.  They should know.

Cazz, welcome to the forum.  You run a moulder in your operation?

Yes, I'm doing a lot of S4S and flooring. Mostly poplar and red oak rustic flooring.

I thought it might be better to get in touch with who woodmizer is recommending for parts, that way he wouldn't have to get a custom belt made. Price should be very reasonable for a stock belt.

Its great to be apart of this forum!

lol
They sure do make a lot of shavings.

I'm in the mid-atlantic where we have a healthy horse racing industry. Shavings sell well, about $18-$20 per yard.

I'm still on my original ones and that does seem expensive. I'm going to check prices Monday.

Hello,
I think if you send me a email I can save and attach a manual to your email .
Here is what I found. I know nothing about these.

  • Head # 1 900x50 belt
  • Head # 2 1070x50 Belt

  • Head # 3 1370x50 Belt
  • Head # 4 950x50 Belt

  • Head # 5 900x50
I would assume these are in MM ?

I am not sure if this will help or not.

Thank you for all your posts. Finding out the size really helps. I ordered one locally for $80. Will find out if it works properly.   Out of curiosity what do you charge a board foot for custom trim.

GAmillworker

Depending on quantity and size anywhere from .25 - .75 linear ft.

I have two molders one can do up to 6"x12" and the other 4"x9"
Thank the Lord for second chances

About what it runs here. Mine is a 4x8

Woodmizer said a company called reignmac sells the parts for the woodmizer moulder, sucky thing is they are in China. I'm not real comfortable buying parts directly from China, anyone had experience doing this?
