I have found lettuce grows well under grow lights. About 5 weeks ago I decided to try and grow some lettuce after I received my order of seeds for the spring garden but it was to early to start them. I transplanted the seedlings into 16 oz Styrofoam cups with holes in the bottom and can't believe how fast they grew

I planted red romaine, red flame leaf, and a green Italian leaf. Loving the fresh salads everyday.

Some lettuce soup will be in order for this cold weather.

Good in cheese and tomato sandwiches too. We are craving fresh produce.

Soup lettuce is what the poor people eat in Georgia. Bless their hearts, all they got are Kabota tractors, Grizzly planer, Woodmizer band mills, top of the line kiln driers, 2 houses, acres of Loblolly, 2 pickups, a huge work shop, lumber every where, 1 HEAVY amp and a bass geetar......they have to eat lettuce.  :D :D :D :D :D
