The wildfires are up and running today.
Low humidity, high winds, down power lines and burns that took place with in the last three days are being rekindled by the winds.
But thats what we train for.  :)

February is the typical burning month here and it has begun.  Much smoke yesterday.

Is it also the time for controlled burning too? Or is that at a different time?

Actually I was referring to controlled burns, but many private owner's fires become uncontrolled.   :-\

Yeah we've dodged the bullet this weekend with the fires locally.  Most of the surrounding counties have been running pretty steady. A few drops of rain tomorrow and looks like a repeat by the end of the week. Fires, burning, and tree planting.... February through May is usually a blur 8)

Only a rookie at burning, but controlled fires can become evening work for the on call guys if not controlled properly.   The bigger the worse, but the methods for fighting fire are just staggering, you guys really know the drill,, a pain, but necessary, and this should not go without the proper appreciation,, so thanks to the pro's that put out the flames!
only have a few chain saws I'm not suppose to use, but will at times, one dog Dolly, pretty good dog, just not sure what for yet,  working on getting the gardening back in order, and kinda thinking on maybe a small bbq bizz,  thinking about it,
